All your questions answered.

Why?

Because pretty soon your little ones will grow up and change, and turn into teenagers. You want to remember each little moment, but life gets busy and the next thing you know, they’re flying off to college. The photographs that you collect and surround yourself with will become family treasures long after, giving you a record of each season you share with your loved ones.

When?

I am always flexible with your family’s schedule and can photograph at any time of day, but I do let my clients know that the different lighting conditions throughout the day can dramatically change the tone of the images. For both in-home and outdoor sessions, early morning and late afternoon gives us the best light, 1-2 hours after sunrise and 1-2 hours before sunset. Summer and Fall are usually my busiest seasons for outdoor sessions here in Oregon, so if you are looking for a session during those months, contact me as soon as possible. If you have a particular date or holiday by which you need prints or gifts, be sure to book a date at least five weeks in advance to allow sufficient processing and printing time.

Where?

I offer sessions in your home or on location. I want you to be wherever you will feel the most comfortable. If you can’t decide, I’m happy to recommend a handful of visually interesting spots around town based on your location and preferences.

I enjoy exploring new locations, so I’m open to ideas and always up for an adventure! We can go to wherever is the most meaningful to you and your loved ones - whether it’s just you and your sweetheart, or the whole family. A photo session in the Columbia River Gorge or on the sprawling sands of Cannon Beach? You won’t have to ask me twice! Wherever we end up, I just want you to relax and be yourselves.

    1. Schedule a call

A quick 15 min phone call will allow us to get to know each other. I will walk you through all the details of my process and answer any questions you may have. If we decide that I am the right photographer for you, we can set a date right then and there. Following the call, the booking process is done 100% online and only takes a few minutes.

    2. Prepare for your session

This is where you may be tempted to stress out a bit, especially if you choose to do an in-home session. But fear not - I will send you a prep guide that will give you all the tools and resources you need to figure out what to wear, how to prepare your home, and what to do if one of the little ones has a meltdown in the middle of the session.

    3. Enjoy the day

I will arrive at your home or meet you at a location of your choosing and you will get started doing what you love to do - playing board games, baking cookies, riding scooters, flying kites on the beach… I’ll just be there to capture all the magic. We’ll keep it easy and relaxed. No stress. Sessions usually last around 90 min.

  • A stack of photo magazines

    4. Your photos in your hands and on your walls

Two to three weeks later, you’ll receive an email with a link to your slideshow where you can view all your images and pick a collection. Each collection includes a certain number of digital files + a certain amount of print credit so that you can have beautiful keepsakes of your memories on display and enjoy them every day.

Investment

I know that finding the right photographer for your family can be difficult. As with any art, photography prices can vary widely depending on what exactly you are looking for. As you’ll find, my work is not the most expensive in the area - nor is it the cheapest.

One of the important things for me is that you should end up with some sort of physical product that brings your memories to life. That’s why I include a generous print credit with every collection I offer.

So with a session fee of $250 and collections starting at $500, you’ll get an easy, streamlined experience, beautiful keepsakes for your home, and memories that will last forever.

 FAQs

  • After the session, I carefully review all the images and select the best of the best, which typically ends up being between 50-60. I then fully edit each and every one to deliver a beautiful set of final images for you to enjoy.

  • Yes! Each photo collection I offer includes a set number of digital files plus a print credit to get products like fine art prints, calendars, and albums. I offer three different collections so you can get as much or as little as you like!

  • Early Summer and Fall are the busiest times of year for outdoor family photos in Oregon. If you’d like a session during one of those times, please get in touch as soon as possible. At-home sessions can, of course, be done any time of year. If you have a particular date or holiday by which you need prints or gifts, be sure to book a date at least one month in advance of that date to ensure sufficient processing and printing time.

  • Comfort is key. But I will say that solid, muted colors are best. And try to avoid large logos/text and neon colors. I have a complete guide with even more tips that you’ll receive once you book your session to help you prepare. And I will always be a phone call away if you need help coordinating outfits. I actually really enjoy doing that for my clients.

  • Yes! If you decide to have your session take place outside of your home, I have several locations that work beautifully for family sessions, school portraits, or newly engaged couples. And we can talk about what your family loves in particular and find a place that’s meaningful to you.

  • I get it - I’m not the most comfortable in front of a camera either! But I’ve heard this countless times from clients who end up having a blast and walking away with amazing images. Most of the time I will just be letting you interact with your loved ones, but I am always there to guide you through easy posing and tell you exactly what to do so you look and feel amazing.

  • I am based out of Tualatin, Oregon and travel between Portland, Vancouver, Salem, Hood River, and Cannon Beach. I am more than happy to travel further to wherever you are in the world, but travel fees may apply.
